JUNE FAVORITES

by Jenna

June has been quite the month for me. With the start if summer, I’ve been loving quite a few things. Here they are 🙂

LISTENING

Selena Gomez – I’ve always been a huge fan of Selena, ever since I was young. Earlier this month, I got the chance to see her live with my dearest friend Brenna and WOW. She puts on a stellar show (and not to mention, but her looks?!!?!? Unreal). I’ve been loving her unreleased song Feel Me, Sober and I Want You To Know. And her new movie just came out on Netflix, The Fundamentals of Caring, and it is so good. Go off honey!

Moxie Raia – My best friend, Mattie (she’s the one in the cover pic, go follow her xo) introduced me to Moxie after she saw her live, opening at the Purpose Tour, and I fell in love with her stuff. Her music is so different and raw. Some of my favorites are Hey Love, Rudimental, On My Mind and Could You Be Love. AND WE’RE BOTH FROM NJ!!! Hopefully I’ll get to see her soon at Purpose Tour.

Pick Up The Phone ft. Quavo – Young Thug & Travis Scott

WEARING

Levi’s 501′s – These jeans are absolutely everything, and so timeless. You can usually find a ton at thrift shores and vintage shops, but if you can’t, there’s a heap of pairs on eBay for super cheap, and you’re more likely to find some in your size. If you don’t like the fit, cut them into shorts!

Caps – With the summer humidity creeping up, my curly locks are on Level 27 on the frizz scale. I love to wear hats, especially now that I just cut my hair really short. I love getting new ones from new places that I travel to.

Bathing suits – Since last year I’ve grown a solid 2 inches, and also grown into myself, so all my swimsuits are too small. Target, Forever 21, and Zaful all have some cute ones that are relatively inexpensive, but the nicest ones that I’ve found are the vintage one-pieces from the 80′s & 90′s that you can find at your local Goodwill. I know some people are iffy about wearing other people’s “intimates”, but there’s nothing some bleach can’t do. PLUS you’re saving the planet, so it’s really a win win.

Birkenstocks – I used to actually hate how these looked up until last year, but now I love them. They’re so comfortable, but definitely an acquired taste. You can find a bunch of pairs that aren’t authentic Birk’s at a lor of plaaces if you just wanna try them out, or you can get real ones.

EATING

Fruit – CARB THE FUCK UP!!!

Waffles – I’ve always preferred waffles over pancakes. Thriving On Plants posted this delicious recipe for them, and I’ve eaten them almost everyday with some chocolate sauce and fruit.

READING

The Four Agreements – Don Miguel Ruiz

I’ll Give You The Sun – Jandy Nelson

Me Before You – Jojo Moyes

themessyheads.com – I’ve been a fan of the blog for months now and the contents posted on there is phenomenal. PLEASE READ!

WATCHING

bianca9198x – Bianca’s been a favorite of mine for years, and I just love her.

supremebanana – Cami is just awesome.

Koi Fresco – There is no way you will not love Koi once you watch a video of his

Stella Rae – Definitely one of my favorite people. She is just so funny and educated, it makes you motivated to actually be better.

#THEMESSYEFFECT – Ever since the video of Cartia and Emma went up on Cartia’s channel, I’ve been sitting and waiting to see what these 5 girls continue to do. They are so lovely, and the message they are trying to spread is so important. I have recommended this video to just about everyone, so please watch it, and follow all of the girls. They’ve also been on a West Coast tour, and they have a long video coming out about it, so be sure to watch the teasers!!

With love, Jenna
